Karin Wiesinger is PRVA President

Skills partner Karin Wiesinger has taken over the chairmanship of the domestic industry association for public relations in 2021.

The board of the Public Relations Verband Austria (PRVA) has been reorganized: Karin Wiesinger, Partner at The Skills Group, succeeds Julia Wippersberg, who had been President since 2017.

There are also several new additions to the association’s board team: Ingrid Gogl, Head of the ÖBB Newsroom at ÖBB-Holding AG, Magdalena Lechner, independent PR consultant (Factor C3), Feri Thierry, Managing Partner of 365 Sherpas Consulting and Melanie Wenger-Rami, Head of Public Relations & Press Spokesperson of Caritas Austria.

Christian Krpoun (CEO currycom communications) and Florian Haas (Head of Brand, Marketing & Communications at EY Austria) remain on the board as new vice-presidents, as does Stefan Grampelhuber, Secretary General of the PRVA since July 2021.

The future of the communications industry

“We are witnessing a progressive division in our society in which individual interests are played off against each other. This is precisely where professional communicators can play to their strengths as bridge builders by promoting discourse and the exchange of information. This dialogue work creates a communication climate in which closed bubbles of opinion are opened up and build credibility and trust in the long term. Values whose importance will increase even more in the future,” says Wiesinger on the occasion of her inauguration.

The Skills Group thus remains true to its commitment to the industry association: Skills Managing Director Jürgen H. Gangoly was also a member of the PRVA for more than 15 years, most recently as Vice President. He is also a Board Member of the International Communications Consultancy Organisation (ICCO), as whose European President he previously served for four years (until 2020).
