SHARKPROJECT is a non-profit species conservation organisation dedicated to the over 500 species of sharks and their environment, the marine ecosystem. Since its founding in 2002, SHARKPROJECT has become one of the largest and most effective organisations of its kind in the world. All staff work exclusively on a voluntary basis; rent and other fixed costs are borne by the members, so that all donations directly benefit the projects without major bureaucratic costs.
Through extensive press and information work, SHARKPROJECT reaches millions of people with its message. In addition, there is intensive work in schools with speakers and teaching materials, lectures, participation in trade fairs and much more.
The SHARKPROJECT team works internationally from Costa Rica to Spain. In addition, there are national campaigns of the three country organisations in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
