The Pontifical Mission Societies (“Missio”) have been working in 150 countries around the world since 1922. As one of the ten largest donation organizations in Austria, Missio Austria, with Pope Francis at its head, is committed to strengthening the growing universal church in the poorest countries of the world. We put the Pope’s credo into practice. Missio goes together with the local church partners to the edges of this world: to the poorest, to the hungry, to the needy, to the children, to the sick. The founder of the Pontifical Mission Societies, Blessed Pauline Marie Jaricot, gave the Pontifical Mission Societies two tools to change the world: Prayer and Donation. For nearly 100 years, Missio has lived this charism concretely – through aid projects, prayer initiatives, campaigns, missionary actions and much more.
