The Mauthausen Committee Austria is a non-partisan and non-denominational organisation. It speaks up for a free and democratic society and for the protection of the human rights of all, regardless of nationality, political opinion or religion, and it works resolutely against all forms of fascism, racism, neo-Nazism, chauvinism and anti-Semitism.
The association has its origins in the association “Mauthausen Aktiv Oberösterreich”, which – in memory of the former Mauthausen Nazi concentration camp – carried out commemorative work from Upper Austria for decades. The Mauthausen Committee has been active throughout Austria since its founding, with increased commitment to youth work.
