Austrian Power Grid (APG)

Austrian Power Grid (APG) is Austria’s independent electric grid operator, which manages and is responsible for the supra-regional electricity transmission grid. APG’s infrastructure secures Austria’s electricity supply. The APG grid covers a route length of about 3,400 km, which the company operates and maintains with a team of about 600 specialists, and continuously adapts to the increasing requirements of the economy and society by using state-of-the-art technologies. The capacities of APG’s power grid are a prerequisite for the success of the energy turnaround – by 2030, the entire electricity demand is to be covered by renewable energies. In total, APG will invest around 3.1 billion euros in grid expansion and conversion over the next ten years, including 357 million euros in 2021.
